Hey! My name is Tiffany (obviously). I'm 21 and have lived on the west side of South Bend my entire life. I'm a Junior majoring in Mass Communications with a focus in electronic media. I also chose too minor in Drawing and Painting even though that wasn't my original plan. I don't have any specific goals for when I graduate. I just want to do something I enjoy, spend my time with people I love, and make sure every single person I meet knows that they are loved. I'm also quite the writer, so sorry if this seems way too long.
I guess I should identify the dog in the picture. Her name is Mini and she is my Chihuahua. I've had her for about 8 years and I love her sooooo much, just like all my pets. I have a 4 year old pit bull/labrador mix named Ella and a 16 year old tabby cat named Fluffy. I also have a German Shepard/labrador mix named Jazzmin who is in Heaven.
It's hard to say exactly why I am interested in making media, other than because I love it. I love meeting new characters, especially when I can relate to them. I also really admire and have respect for the talent of actors, artists, musicians, directors, and writers. I guess you can say that my taste in media comes from my faith, my love for the paranormal, and my weird sense of humor.
For example, my favorite TV shows include American Horror Story, Wilfred, and Being Human (UK). Then you can include pretty much any ghost/paranormal show out there. Ghost Adventures is one I watch religiously. I also enjoy certain reality shows, like Catfish and World of Jenks on MTV, and Hotel Impossible and all of Anthony Bourdain's shows on the Travel Channel. Yes, I watch Doctor Who, but I don't feel right calling myself a Whovian because I'm not as die-hard as most fans. I just admire the writing and creativity of it.
There are many movies that I love as well. There's American Beauty and The Crow (origianl and Salvation). I enjoy most Tarantino, Wes Anderson, Paul Thomas Anderson, M. Night Shyamalan, and Wes Craven films. However, I feel that in order to come close to understanding me, you need to know that I love Kevin Smith. I think I have seen Clerks more times than is healthy for a female my age. Not all his films are "great" but I feel like they are all easy to relate too. I respect and agree with a lot of the views he presents. Even though I don't like hockey or comics and he's old enough to be my father, I want to be Kevin Smith's best friend.
The media I love the most, however, is probably music. I love my favorite bands with a passion and go to a lot of their concerts. I have way too many to list, but most of them tend to fall into the Rock, Punk, and Alternative categories. First I should mention that my absolute favorite band is Chevelle. I saw them back in 2010 and it was magical. My second would have to be Polar Bear Club. I actually got to meet, hug, and talk to the lead singer, Jimmy Stadt, at Warped Tour 2012. It still feels like a dream. Some other important ones include Bloc Party, Blink 182, Taking Back Sunday, Thursday, From Autumn to Ashes, Rival Schools, Thousand Foot Krutch, The Gaslight Anthem, Enter Shikari, Title Fight, The Story So Far, Citizen, Bring Me The Horizon, and Captain, We're Sinking. I should probably stop before this gets too much longer.
